一、Three Good Friends

One day,a monkey rides his bike near the river.This time he sees a lion under a tree.The lion runs at him.He is afraid and falls into the river.He can’t swim.He shouts.The rabbit hears him.He jumps into the river.The rabbit swims to the monkey,but he can’t help him.Luckily,an elephant comes along.He is very strong.He helps the rabbit and monkey.Three friends are very happy.They go to the elephant’s home.Then,three of them become good friends.

Useful knowledge is the knowledge which is of benefit to ourselves and to others,and that is the most important which is the most useful.It is the belief of many people that knowledge is better than riches,and that its possession brings more comfort to the owner than anything else.

The power of intellectual knowledge,without the owner of moral principle,often tends to evil.Character is the criterion5 of knowledge.Not what a man has,but what he is,is the question.The quality of soul is more than the quantity of information.If we have noble purpose,our intellectual attainments will naturally turn to the loftiest4 uses
