英语中的我国传统节日：端午节

（the Dragon Boat Festival）

The Duanwu or Dragon Boat Festival, is generally celebrated on the fifth month of the

Chinese lunar calendar, falls on June 7th this year. It is one of the oldest festivals in China, with a history of more than 2,000 years.

It is a festival that reminds us of Qu Yuan, an ancient patriotic

poet of the Warring States Periods.

The festival is best known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes. Many people look forward to it and practice boating day and night several months before the race day. It is obvious that the festival has become part of life. All people will try their best to turn up and watch the race, the winner of which will be awarded cup and prize.

On the Dragon Boat Festival in China, it is a custom to eat Zongzi，which has different shapes and various fillings with reed or bamboo leaves. It is my

favorite part of the festival.
