So hot today.
今日可真热。
You know what?
你猜我要怎么着?
I don’t need pants for this video.
我就把裤子脱了,录这期视频吧。
Whew.
哇呜。
Hey, everyone.
嗨,我们好。
I’m Alex.
我叫亚历克斯。
Thanks for clicking, and welcome to this lesson on”Nouns That Are Always Plural”.
谢谢点开这段视频,等待来到今日的课程《只需复数方法的名词》。
So, if you know anything about count and noncount nouns, you know that count nouns can be singular or plural.
假定你晓得名词分为可数名词和不可以数名词,你也大约晓得可数名词有奇数方法和复数方法。
“Cup”, “cups”; “table”, “tables”; “school”, “schools”.
“杯子”,”杯子的复数方法”; “桌子”,”桌子的复数方法”; “学校”,”学校的复数方法”。
But there are some nouns. . . The list is not very long, but there are some nouns that always stay plural, that only have a plural form, and today I’m going to talk about them.
可是有一些名词……这样的单词不是许多,它们老是以复数方法呈现,而且只需复数方法,今日就来讲一讲这些词。
Now, I know some of you might have some issues, you know, trying to memorize some of these things.
But after today’s lesson, I promise you: You’re going to feel a lot better, a lot more confident, and you will be able to use these nouns correctly and confidently, which is really important, obviously, when you’re learning and speaking a language.
可以有一些同学会有这样的疑问,就是记住一切这些单词。
可是,学习了今日的课程之后,我保证:你会轻松许多,也会更自傲,而且也能把这些名词正确无误地挥洒自若,当你在学习和运用一门言语的时分,这显着是很重要的。
So. . .
所以……
Whew.
哇呜。
That’s better.
许多了。
I feel the air now.
如今,我感遭到空气了。
I feel the air.
感遭到空气了。
So:”clothes”, the word”clothes”itself is permanently plural.
所以:”clothes”这个词本身就是一个复数,而且没有奇数。
Right?
理解吗?
So you can say:”I have too many clothes”.
因而你可以说:”我有许多衣裳。”
Not:”too much clothes”, because even though it only has one form, some people say:”Do I have too much clothes or too many clothes”?
但不可以以说:”too much clothes”,因为即便只需一种方法,有些人会说:”我有许多衣裳吗?(许多用much仍是many)”
No, it’s a plural, permanently plural, so you use”many” with the noun”clothes”.
不,这是复数方法,只需复数方法,所以你大约运用”many”和名词”clothes”分配。
Okay?
理解吗?
So:”I have too many clothes”.
所以就可以说:”我有许多衣裳。”
You can’t say. . .
但不可以以说……
Do not say: ” I have two clothes”, or: “to clothes-es-es”, don’t do it.
不可以以说:”I have two clothes”,或许加es,不可的。
Okay?
理解了吗?
So, just:”I have a lot of clothes.
所以就说:”我有许多衣裳。
I need new clothes.
我需要新衣裳。
I need some new clothes”.
我需要一些新衣裳。”
That’s okay.
这就可以了。
If you want to count clothes, there is a way, but you don’t use the word”clothes”, you use the word”clothing”and you use the quantifier expression of”articles of clothing”.
假定你想数数有几件衣裳,可以这样,可是不要运用”clothes”这个单词,你可以运用”clothing”这个单词,恰当的表达是”articles of clothing(标明几件衣裳)”。
Okay?
理解了吗?
So:”There are 3 new articles of clothing in my closet”.
所以可以这样说:”我的衣柜里有3件新衣裳。”
Otherwise:”clothes”.
或许用:”clothes”。
“I have a lot of clothes, too many clothes”.
“我有许多衣裳,许多的衣裳。”
Okay?
理解了吗?
“I need new clothes”.
“我需要新衣裳。”
Continuing on, I’ve separated the second part of this video into three sections.
持续,我把视频的第二项内容分红了三个有些。
One: leg stuff; two: other stuff; three: other other stuff.
一、有关腿的东西;二、其他的东西;三、其他以外的东西。
By the way, “leg stuff” is not a technical term at all, but stick with me.
趁便一提,”有关腿的东西”可不是啥专业术语,跟上我的节奏,听下去吧。
So, basically anything that you can, like, pull up on your legs, like the pants that I had and I no longer have, you can use in a permanent plural.
一般来说,只需能穿到你腿上的,就像我方才穿戴又脱了的裤子,你就可以一向运用复数。
Okay?
理解了吗?
So, what are some examples of leg stuff, things you can put on your legs?
那么,举一些有关腿的比方,你可以穿到腿上的?
One, very general:”pants”.
一、很常见:”裤子”。
Okay?
对吧?
You can say:”I need new pants”.
你可以说:”我需要新裤子。”
If you want to count pants or any of the other things I’m going to talk about related to clothes, you can also say:” I need a new pair”.
假定你打管用一数裤子有几条,就用类似标明衣裳件数的词,你可以用:”I need a new pair(我需要一条裤子)”。
So,”a pair” means two.
这儿,”a pair”就是一对的意思。
Now, again, legs have. . .
如今持续,腿上的东西……
Leg stuff, pants, jeans, etc. , you have two legs and you put one and then the other, so this is a pair.
腿上的东西例如,裤子、牛仔裤等等,两条腿,穿上这条再穿那条,这样就是一对。
So you can say:”I need a new pair of pants”, or”a new pair of jeans”, or”a new pair of shorts”, for example.
所以你可以说:”我需要一条新裤子”,或”一条新牛仔裤”,或许”一条新短裤”,这类似的。
And you can also just say:”I need new pants”, “new shorts”, “new jeans”, “new overalls”.
你也可以说:”我需要新裤子”,”新短裤”,”新牛仔裤”
,”新工装裤”。
If you don’t know what”overalls”are, I’ve drawn you a little picture.
假定你不晓得啥是”工装裤”,那我给你画个图。
If you know Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario and Luigi wear overalls.
假定你晓得超级马里奥游戏,里边的马里奥和路易基穿的就是工装裤。
A lot of, you know, people who work in factories have to wear clothes that cover their whole bodies from the legs all the way up, these are overalls.
你们都晓得,许多在工厂作业的工人穿戴包裹到上身的裤子,这就是工装裤。
“Leggings”, so leggings and”tights”, these are very similar.
“健美裤”,”紧身裤”差不多一种东西。
When you think of leggings, think of tights.
当你想到健美裤,或许紧身裤。
You might think of a Shakespearean theatre, a
Shakespearean play where the actors wear really tight, tight, tight, thin layers of pants to cover their legs, and usually they cover your feet as well.
你可以会想到莎士比亚的戏曲,莎士比亚戏曲里的男演员的腿上会穿戴很紧、很紧的薄裤子,一般这种裤子像长筒袜相同。
Right?
理解了吗?
So, yeah, leggings, tights.
嗯,对,这就是健美裤、紧身裤。
And”shorts”.
然后是”短裤”。
Now, you might be thinking:”Well, Alex, what about that other thing that you put underneath your clothes that you’re wearing”? that I’m wearing now, which is underwear.
如今,你可以会有这样的疑问:”对了,亚历克斯,那穿在你衣裳里边的衣裳呢?”也就是我如今穿戴的,这种叫做内衣。
Okay?
理解吗?
Underwear is an exception to this rule.
内衣就归于破例了。
We don’t say, you know:”underwears”all the time, it’s just”underwear”without a plural.
咱们历来不会说:”underwears”,咱们只说”underwear”,不运用复数。
Okay?
理解了吗?
But you still say:”two pairs of underwear”, “three pairs of underwear”, but just there’s no”s”on the end of it.
但你也可以说:”四件内衣”,”六件内衣”,可是不要在内衣这个单词后边加”s”。
Okay?
理解了吗?
So, just for pronunciation, just repeat after me with these words, guys:”pants”, “jeans”, “overalls”, “shorts”, “tights”, ” leggings”.
下面,操练一下发音,跟我重复这些单词:”裤子”、”牛仔裤”、”工装裤”、”短裤”、”紧身裤”、”健美裤”。
All right, continuing on with this, you can also say with other stuff that: “You need new”, or”You need a new pair of scissors”.
好的,咱们持续,咱们来说其他的东西:”你需要新的”或许说”你需要一把新剪刀。”
You use scissors to cut right?
你需要剪刀来剪东西,对吧?
In school, or at home.
在学校或许在家里。
Or:”a new pair of glasses”.
或许:”一副眼镜”。
So, I have a pair of glasses here.
那么,我这儿有一副眼镜。
Obviously these are not mine because they do not fit my face, but this is a pair of glasses.
当然这不是我的,很显着,我的脸戴不上,不过这仍是一副眼镜。
Right?
对吧?
So, you don’t say:”one glass”.
所以,你不能说:”one glass”。
They are always”glasses”.
这个单词有必要这样:”glasses”,才标明眼镜。
They are permanently plural.
一向是复数,没有奇数。
Okay?
理解吗?
And I’m not going to break these so the person they belong to won’t kill me, it would be nice.
我可别把它给摔坏了,否则主人可以会弄死我,放这就许多了。
Okay.
好的。
And finally, other other stuff: The word”thanks”.
最终,其他以外的东西:”thanks”这个单词。
So”thanks”is a noun.
“thanks”是一个名词。
We don’t say”thank”?
为啥不说”thank”?
You can say:”Thank you”, that’s totally fine, .
你完全可以说:”谢谢你”。
But if you’re just saying:”Thanks”or you want to use it as a noun as in you give thanks for something or you say thanks for something, you don’t say:”Give thank”or”Say thank”.
可是当你说:”谢谢”或许想当作名词用,标明谢谢,或许说谢谢的时分,就不要说:”Give thank”或许”Say thank”。
You give thanks.
你想表达谢谢。
You say:”Thanks”.
你就说:”Thanks”。
Okay.
好的。
All right, guys, I’m actually getting a little cold now so I think it’s time to wrap up this video.
